A weekend of minimal grooving due to the awful weather has led me to become pretty experimental in what I listened to over the weekend. Got pretty disco at one stage.
Here are my favourites of what I came across over the weekend that I haven’t already featured on other blogs.
Another dubstep super duo has appeared. KillaGraham and Nymz have released two songs together. Not being their dubsteppy selves the music has transformed into something a little more electro. Taking samples from some of the greatest songs of our generation and adding that jump up sound that is so popular at the moment. These guys are sure to get very popular.
Yet another big named remix came out for Flux Pavillions – Day Dreamer ft Example. Making the total of awesome remixes of it about 4,320. This time it’s done by Jack Beats and it has as much swag as is expected from the British super producer. I would love to know how he makes the synths for some of these tunes.
The deep and disco. I love deep house and coming across Maya Jane Coles has just been a blessing. Oh how far out of my way I would be willing to go to see her. With the success of her recently released DJ-Kicks compilation / mix she’s bound to get more and more popular and she’s very deserving.
That dubstep. Some big dubstep tunes were released. Skream always delivering great remixes of the top 40 UK brought the world his take on Theophilus Londons “I Stand Alone”. Skrillex has a new release with 12th Planet “Lets Get Down”. It’s pretty glitchy and I’m really starting to dig Skrillex’s new sound. It just seems like it’s getting a lot less spastic and a lot more fun after his release of Make It Bun Dem or Rudeboy (whatever you like to call it, So much arguement over it jesus).
